Francesco Tarallo was born in Stuttgart, Bad Cannstatt in 1978, where he was also raised. He began to collect and play electronic music starting in 1992, previously having been interested in hip hop, beginning with the usual American suspects, such as Two Live Crew and Public Enemy, later to turn to German bands like Main Concept and MC Rene. His musical development has always been influenced by a wide range of sources. When he is not spinning or producing, he enjoys listening to jazz, funk, experimental genres, or even sometimes classical music.
Francesco Tarallo established a presence in his home town early on, later to find his fan base in other cities, including Berlin. This might have something to do with the fact that he doesn't play the typical electroclash or Ibizahouse styles, which are widely popular in Stuttgart. Not that he can't play these styles as well. It just happens that he was less interested in catering to the masses than doing his own thing, a penchant which ensures for a special something in all his sets. You never know what will happen in his sets. The only thing that is certain is that he will take all who are willing on an extraordinairy musical trip. It is often a challenge, and this is exactly what one must appreciate in his music. Hence his many pseudonyms. While he enjoys bringing things together under his real name, sometimes spinning for more than twelve hours, as "Sustain" he prefers to concentrate on a hard pace, and as "dec" he gets to live out his experimentel-ambient side.
Since it's obvious how much fun he has during his sets, an incredibly familiar atmosphere is always to be expected, where the barrier between the DJ and the listener falls away. In 2000, he founded his Filmmusik platform. It is a label, posse, event organizer in one, making it the basis for everything. He has managed to make many contacts through this platform, giving him an opportunity to support new blood in the music scene. It is really only a question of time until this platform becomes a real record label.
