Mabik

Mabik is a music-obsessed free spirit who has been making electronic music since the age of fourteen. Music became the main focus of his life aready at the age of seven, when he began playing the cello. Ever since then, his sound has continued to live from his broad range of interests, from classical music to jazz, drum & bass, and 60s and 70s rock.

Roughly three years ago while he was still producing almost exclusively drum & bass, Mabik discovered Berlin-style minimal techno, which fascinated him and which he enthusiastically absorbed into his work. He soon afterwards began to take his first steps in producing this sound, still with an unmistakeable jazz influence.

His sound lives from complex beat arrangements, numerous delicate breaks, and flashes of trace jazz and classical music. Still cooking up a storm with his drum & bass sets, he is only at the beginning of his discovery of minimal sounds. Mabik’s future developments are made all the more promising by his unique and unmistakeable talent for fusing styles.
